JBL Flip 7 vs JBL Charge 3

Last updated: August 21, 2026

Short answer: the JBL Flip 7 for better sound quality, the JBL Charge 3 for the lower price. The JBL Flip 7 ranks #14 of 136 medium speakers at $129.95. The JBL Charge 3 ranks #67 at $80, $49.95 cheaper.

What the JBL Flip 7 offers: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. The tradeoff: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6. I believe this one is slightly worse than the Flip 6.

The case for the JBL Charge 3: Doubles as a 6000mAh power bank for USB devices. ~20 hour battery life. The catch: Less clarity than the Flip 4. Battery failures are common.

Buy the JBL Flip 7 if sound quality matters more than the price. Buy the JBL Charge 3 if the price matters more than sound quality.
