These sit in different size classes, so this is not a straight ranking comparison. The Denon Home 350 ranks #9 of 10 powered desktop speakers by sound quality at $749; the Devialet Mania ranks #54 of 117 large speakers by sound quality at $899.
What the Denon Home 350 does well: A large Wi-Fi smart speaker that plays loud, with lossless streaming, built in Alexa that hears you well, and app tone controls. It links with other speakers (HEOS multi-room, stereo pair with a second Home 350), which the Devialet Mania cannot. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Devialet Mania lacks. The tradeoff: RTINGS measured a slightly boomy sound profile out of the box and disappointing directivity, so the sound changes noticeably off to the side of the cabinet, plus compression artifacts as it nears max volume.
The Devialet Mania is the battery-powered, tougher choice. A compact, good looking Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stereo speaker with Alexa built in and splash resistance. Its battery is rated for 10 hours, while the Denon Home 350 needs an outlet. It is rated IPX4, while the Denon Home 350 has no water resistance. The tradeoff: Not very loud.
Buy the Denon Home 350 at $749 if you want a powered desktop speaker. Buy the Devialet Mania at $899 if you want a large speaker instead.
