Short answer: the Tribit Stormbox Lava. It ranks #3 of 115 large speakers by sound quality, rated 4.6/5, at $119.99; the Devialet Mania ranks #52, rated 3.6/5, and costs $899, which makes this an easy call rather than a real tradeoff.
The Tribit Stormbox Lava is the better-sounding, longer-running choice. A loud, waterproof large speaker with strong bass, a long battery and an aux input, for far less than its rivals. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 10 for the Devialet Mania. It is rated IP67 against IPX4 for the Devialet Mania. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Devialet Mania lacks. The tradeoff: XBass can make the low end muddy and obscure vocals, while the deepest notes lose authority and clarity falls at maximum volume.
What the Devialet Mania does well: A compact, good looking Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stereo speaker with Alexa built in and splash resistance. Watch for: Not very loud.
Buy the Tribit Stormbox Lava. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Devialet Mania and costs less, which makes it the one to get unless you need something the other one does better.
