Short answer: the Minirig 4 with subwoofer. It ranks #5 of 115 large speakers by sound quality, rated 4.6/5, at $290; the Devialet Mania ranks #52, rated 3.6/5, and costs $899, which makes this an easy call rather than a real tradeoff.
Why pick the Devialet Mania: A compact, good looking Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stereo speaker with Alexa built in and splash resistance. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Minirig 4 with subwoofer. The catch: Not very loud.
The Minirig 4 with subwoofer is the better-sounding, longer-running choice. A compact speaker and wireless subwoofer pair with some of the most balanced sound available, a long battery and deep, impactful bass. It is rated for 30 hours of battery against 10 for the Devialet Mania. At 3.2 lbs (1.44 kg) it weighs noticeably less than the Devialet Mania at 5.1 lbs (2.3 kg). It has an adjustable EQ, which the Devialet Mania lacks. Watch for: Not stereo, app is buggy.
Buy the Minirig 4 with subwoofer. It is rated higher for sound quality than the Devialet Mania and costs less, which makes it the one to get unless you need something the other one does better.
