Short answer: the Minirig 3 with subwoofer. It ranks #6 of 77 large speakers by sound quality at $260; the Dali Katch G2 ranks #58 and costs $750, which makes this an easy call rather than a real tradeoff.
What the Dali Katch G2 gets right: Pretty neutral Watch for: Loses bass quickly after 40% volume. A lot of compression artifacts at high volume. External AC power brick for charging. Horribly overpriced. Nearly identical to the Dali Katch G1. Reverb added to the output screws up the imaging.
On the Minirig 3 with subwoofer side: Very balanced sound The tradeoff: Not stereo, app is buggy. Wireless TWS pairing is buggy. Not easy to carry on the go, no handle and there’s 2 pieces. Calls itself splash resistant but has no official water rating. A bit expensive. Has [reliability issues more often than any other speaker]
Buy the Minirig 3 with subwoofer. It ranks higher for sound quality than the Dali Katch G2 and costs less, which settles it without a real tradeoff to make.
The Dali Katch G2 is not a sound-quality pick. It sits near the bottom of the 77 large speakers; there are better options higher up.
If water resistance matters to you, the Dali Katch G2 at IPX7 (brief submersion) holds up far better than the Minirig 3 with subwoofer at Splash resistant (splashing).
