Older model: the Dayton Audio SUB-1200 (ranked lower, rated 3.8/5). See every Dayton Audio Subwoofers generation.
Same family: the Dayton Audio CS1000 (smaller subwoofer, estimated 3.7/5).
Pros: A budget 12 inch ported subwoofer with real punch for a mid-size room, remarkable output for the money. Independent CEA-2010 testing records 94.6 dB at 20 Hz and 119.0 dB through 40-80 Hz. The ported enclosure with a 12” driver has real headroom for a mid-size room.
Cons: At 17.6 kg and 457.2H x 393.7W x 415.8D mm the cabinet is large for a budget sub and needs deliberate placement. Output drops to 94.6dB at 20Hz and 86.3dB at 16Hz, so the deepest movie effects are lighter. As a ported design it can add some port noise and boominess in a small room if placed poorly.
