#93 ELAC Debut Reference DCR52: $499.00 each Estimated Amazon eBay
Same family: the ELAC DBR62 (bookshelf, rated 4/5) and the ELAC Debut Reference DFR52 (floorstanding, estimated 4.3/5).
Pros: The center channel of ELAC’s Debut Reference series, built to match the measured DBR62 bookshelf and DFR52 tower: a 1” soft dome tweeter between two 5.25” aramid fiber woofers, with dual front flared ports so it can sit in a cabinet. Sensitivity is a usable 87dB into 8 ohms.
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared directly with measured speakers; the rating is estimated from the measured Debut Reference speakers and ELAC’s measured Uni-Fi Reference UCR52 center. Two woofers either side of the tweeter in a horizontal box narrow the dispersion off-axis, so seats well to the side hear a duller voice. Bass is rated only to 55Hz.
