KZ PR1 HiFi Edition - ranked #98 of 1476 In-Ear Headphones · Editor's rating 4.6/5

#98 KZ PR1 HiFi Edition: $70 eBay

Pros: A 13.2 mm planar IEM at about $70 with a preference score of 81. Bass reaches 20 Hz and the midrange stays within about 0.5 dB of target, so voices sound clean and natural.

Cons: The top octave runs 4.7 dB hot with an 8.5 dB peak near 11.2 kHz, so it can sound bright and hissy. It is sold out, KZ does not publish impedance or sensitivity, and the score rests on a single measurement.

Frequency Response

How the KZ PR1 HiFi Edition measures across the audible range, against the Harman in-ear target that most listeners prefer in blind tests. Where the line sits above the target that range sounds louder (more bass, brighter treble), below it quieter. The curve is a single measurement, and both lines are shifted so their 500 Hz to 2 kHz average sits at 0 dB.
