The tradeoff: In YouTube sound samples it sounds only okay, and bass is shallow for a 10 inch woofer, only down 10dB at about 55Hz.
The Demerbox DB2 is the longer-running, lighter pick. A nearly indestructible waterproof speaker built from a Pelican case, with a 40 hour battery and dry storage. It is rated for 40 hours of battery against 25 for the Turtlebox Grande. At 5.4 lbs (2.47 kg) it weighs much less than the Turtlebox Grande at 18.8 lbs (8.53 kg). The catch: Bass is not as deep as better speakers.
Buy the Turtlebox Grande if you want one new; the Demerbox DB2 is discontinued, so only look for it used.
