The Tribit Stormbox Pro is the better-sounding, longer-running option. 24 hour battery life (60% volume, XBass off); doubles as a power bank. It is rated for 24 hours of battery against 12 for the Sony ULT Field 1. It supports aptX Bluetooth, which the Sony ULT Field 1 lacks. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Sony ULT Field 1 lacks. The catch: Bottom woofer was fixed in a later firmware, upgrade for best sound.
The Sony ULT Field 1 is the lighter choice. IP67 rated, survives drops and 1m submersion. At 1.4 lbs (650 g) it weighs noticeably less than the Tribit Stormbox Pro at 2.2 lbs (980 g).
