Short answer: the Tribit Stormbox Lava. It ranks #3 of 115 large speakers by sound quality, rated 4.6/5, at $119.99. The LG Xboom Bounce ranks #33, rated 4.0/5, at $103.17, $16.82 cheaper, which does not close the gap in sound quality.
The Tribit Stormbox Lava is the better-sounding, deeper-bass choice. A loud, waterproof large speaker with strong bass, a long battery and an aux input, for far less than its rivals. Its bass reaches about 44Hz before falling 10dB, against 54Hz for the LG Xboom Bounce. The tradeoff: XBass can make the low end muddy and obscure vocals, while the deepest notes lose authority and clarity falls at maximum volume.
The LG Xboom Bounce is the lighter choice. A tough, waterproof speaker that survives drops and extreme temperatures, with a long battery and multipoint pairing. At 2.9 lbs (1.32 kg) it weighs much less than the Tribit Stormbox Lava at 5.2 lbs (2.37 kg). It links with other speakers (Auracast), which the Tribit Stormbox Lava cannot. Watch for: Bass extension not as deep as the top speakers.
Buy the Tribit Stormbox Lava. It is rated higher for sound quality, and saving $16.82 with the LG Xboom Bounce does not make up for the sound-quality gap.
