Soundcore Boost “upgraded” 2021 vs Tribit Maxsound Plus

Last updated: October 3, 2026

Short answer: both are discontinued, so this only matters if you are buying used. Used, the Soundcore Boost “upgraded” 2021 is the better pick: it ranks #4 of 157 medium speakers by sound quality (rated 4.4/5), against #22 (rated 4.1/5) for the Tribit Maxsound Plus. If you want one new, the Earfun Uboom L ranks #1 at $49.79.

Soundcore Boost “upgraded” 2021 vs Tribit Maxsound Plus

The Soundcore Boost “upgraded” 2021 is the better-sounding option. A very neutral good sounding inexpensive small speaker with quite deep bass for the size. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Tribit Maxsound Plus lacks. It charges over USB-C rather than Micro USB. The catch: Slight DSP tuning issue which makes bass get lighter at times at very low volumes, examples in oluv’s video.

The Tribit Maxsound Plus is the longer-running choice. Use XBass mode for flattest frequency response and balanced audio reproduction. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 12 for the Soundcore Boost “upgraded” 2021. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Soundcore Boost “upgraded” 2021 lacks. Watch for: Slightly less deep bass than modern class leaders.

Buy the Soundcore Boost “upgraded” 2021 only if you find one used in good condition; both are discontinued, and it is the better rated of the two. For a new speaker, start with the Earfun Uboom L instead.
