The Soundcore Boost “upgraded” 2021 is the better-sounding, louder option. A very neutral good sounding inexpensive small speaker with quite deep bass for the size. Alan Ross Reviews measured it at 99dB at full volume, against 96dB for the Bose Soundlink Flex. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Bose Soundlink Flex lacks. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Bose Soundlink Flex. The tradeoff: Slight DSP tuning issue which makes bass get lighter at times at very low volumes, examples in oluv’s video.
Why pick the Bose Soundlink Flex: IP67 rated; rugged enough to survive drops from several feet and floats. It links with other speakers (Bose Party mode), which the Soundcore Boost “upgraded” 2021 cannot. The catch: Warm sounding with overly boosted bass which drowns out midrange detail.
Buy the Bose Soundlink Flex if you want one new; the Soundcore Boost “upgraded” 2021 is discontinued, so only look for it used.

Pros: A very neutral good sounding inexpensive small speaker with quite deep bass for the size. This upgraded version has a usb-c port while the old one has micro usb. Measured bass extension of 56Hz (-10dB).
