Short answer: the Boom Go 3i if you can spend a bit more, the Select 4 Go if price is the priority. These rank #2 and #24 of 54 small speakers, and the price gap between them is wide relative to their size class.
The Boom Go 3i is the more capable speaker on paper. It runs 15W through a 25mm tweeter, 42mm woofer, and passive radiators, versus a single 5W 1.75 inch full range driver in the Select 4 Go. It also carries a full IP68 rating for submersion and dust, while the Select 4 Go is IP67, and it adds Auracast party mode and USB-C power bank output that the Select 4 Go lacks entirely. The tradeoff is tuning: its own cons describe it as sounding a bit piercing and metallic with a peak around 10kHz, something owners can partly address with Oluv’s published EQ for it.
The Select 4 Go’s appeal is almost entirely the price. Its own pros call it out as quite inexpensive for what you get, but its cons are blunt about the compromises: not as deep bass as higher ranked speakers, some sibilance on snare and stick transients, and no built in microphone, with mono-only playback unless you buy a second unit for stereo.
Everything else is close: both offer an app, EQ, USB-C charging, and TWS pairing, and both point upward for near-omnidirectional sound.
Buy the Soundcore Boom Go 3i for the tougher water resistance, higher output, and Auracast support, especially if you plan to run Oluv’s EQ tweak.
Buy the Soundcore Select 4 Go if the price difference matters more to you than sound quality or ruggedness.

Cons: This is still a 15W mono speaker: bass impact and stereo width are limited, and critical listeners may find the upper treble piercing or metallic. It is directional by design, so the sound changes off-axis, and independent reviews note it lacks a built-in microphone; it is far better for rugged outdoor background music than a large gathering.
