The Boom Go 3i’s real edge is water sealing. IP68 rated for full submersion and dust protection, against the Micro 2’s IP67, plus an RGB light strip and a USB-C port that doubles as a power bank. Our notes describe the sound as a bit piercing and metallic, with a peak at 10kHz.
The Micro 2 is described as best in class, with much deeper bass than most speakers its size and a genuinely neutral tuning, plus a built-in strap that doubles as a stand. Its one real flaw is finicky phone charging.
Buy the Stormbox Micro 2 for the better sound at the lower price. Buy the Boom Go 3i if the extra IP68 sealing is worth $24.59 to you.
