It keeps a wired aux input, which the KEF Muo gen2 lacks. The tradeoff: Bass distorts noticeably on bass-heavy tracks at default settings, and the distortion persists even after enabling Trueplay tuning and manually pulling bass back in the app.
The KEF Muo gen2 is the lighter pick. A stylish waterproof stereo speaker with aptX Adaptive, USB-C audio input, Auracast and long battery life. At 1.6 lbs (740 g) it weighs much less than the Sonos Play at 2.9 lbs (1.3 kg). It supports aptX Adaptive Bluetooth, which the Sonos Play lacks. It links with other speakers (Auracast), which the Sonos Play cannot. Watch for: Lacking deeper bass.
