Bose S1 Pro+ is a compact PA and mixer built for performers; Onn Large Party gen 2 is a budget party speaker at a fifth of the price. They rank 19 of 51 and 16 of 51.
S1 Pro+ packs a three-channel mixer with auto EQ, wireless transmitter docking and high-efficiency drivers reaching 2-3x typical volume for the wattage, but full-range music distorts above about two-thirds volume since it’s designed more for voice amplification than music playback.
Onn Large Party gen 2 costs far less with karaoke mic/guitar inputs and wheels built in, though Consumer Reports found its bass boomy and treble smeared with no app or EQ.
Buy the Bose S1 Pro+ if you need a professional PA and mixer for performers or presenters. Buy the Onn Large Party gen 2 for straightforward budget party and karaoke use.
Water resistance is not close: the Onn Large Party gen 2 is rated at IPX4 (splashing), well ahead of the Bose S1 Pro+ at no water resistance.

The Two Speakers In Full
Onn Large Party gen 2: $129 Walmart eBay
Pros: A remarkably full-featured, manageable 9.5kg party speaker: wheels and handle, FM radio, aux, USB-A charging, mic and guitar inputs with karaoke echo, and Party Sync. Independent testing confirms bass with real impact and enough output for a large room; it is a clear improvement over the Gen 1 for low-end weight.
Cons: The low price shows in the refinement. Consumer Reports found boomy bass, hazy/grainy mids, a prominent smeared treble and a narrow, two-dimensional soundfield; it also notes distortion or other audio issues. There is no app or EQ to tame the tuning, and IPX4 only covers splashes rather than rain or immersion.

Bose S1 Pro+: $699.00 Amazon eBay
Pros: Extremely compact and light with flexible placement options. Full sound with no lack of low-end output, crystal-clear audio quality. Three-channel mixer (2 XLR/quarter-inch combo mic-instrument + 1 line/Bluetooth), each with its own OLED display for quick treble/bass/reverb adjustment. Auto EQ adjusts sound based on orientation. Multiple angled surfaces for various positioning including tilted portrait mode, plus a line out to daisy-chain a second unit. Optional WT-XLR/WT-INST wireless transmitters dock, pair, and charge right in the speaker for a cable-free mic or instrument. Up to 11 hours battery life. Professional build quality. High efficiency drivers reach 2-3x the volume of typical speakers for the same wattage.
Cons: With full range music, it becomes distorted above ⅔ volume, and reviewers describe it as screeching at max volume. Better suited for voice amplification. Not as much deep bass as the Everse 8, midrange sounds reasonably balanced. Treble is pretty boosted. Not stereo. Designed for more loudness than deeper bass. Ports are fully exposed with no water resistance. Charges via a less common three-prong AC cable instead of the two-prong barrel cable most rivals use.
