Short answer: the Turtlebox Ranger, if you are buying new. The Minirig 3 ranks higher than it (#8 vs #65 of 164 medium speakers, 4.3/5 vs 3.5/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the Turtlebox Ranger is still sold new at $250.
The Minirig 3 is the better-sounding, longer-running pick. Modular, can easily attach a subwoofer. It is rated for 30 hours of battery against 12 for the Turtlebox Ranger. At 1.2 lbs (550 g) it weighs much less than the Turtlebox Ranger at 2.4 lbs (1.09 kg). It keeps a wired aux input, which the Turtlebox Ranger lacks. The catch: Calls itself splash resistant and has no official water rating.
The Turtlebox Ranger is the tougher choice. Smoother frequency response than the other Turtlebox speakers. It is rated IP67 against Splash resistant for the Minirig 3. Watch for: Bass sounds kind of thuddy and isn’t as deep as higher ranked speakers.
Buy the Turtlebox Ranger new; the Minirig 3 is no longer sold new, so it only makes sense as a used find.

Minirig 3: $140 Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the Minirig 4, ranked higher, rated 4.3/5.
Pros: Modular, can easily attach a subwoofer. Measured bass extension of 53Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Not stereo. Calls itself splash resistant and has no official water rating. App is buggy. Wireless TWS pairing is buggy. A bit expensive. Has reliability issues more often than any other speaker. Discontinued; Minirig now sells only the Minirig 4, and the old product page redirects to it.

Turtlebox Ranger: $250.00 Amazon eBay
Pros: Smoother frequency response than the other Turtlebox speakers. Has magnets for attaching it to things. Appears to be quite tough
Cons: Bass sounds kind of thuddy and isn’t as deep as higher ranked speakers. Overpriced. Heavy for the size, likely due to the toughness
