Short answer: the Soundcore 2, if you are buying new. The Minirig 3 ranks higher than it (#8 vs #103 of 164 medium speakers, 4.3/5 vs 3.0/5) but is discontinued, so only consider it used; the Soundcore 2 is still sold new at $29.99.
The Minirig 3 is the better-sounding choice. Modular, can easily attach a subwoofer. It supports aptX Bluetooth, which the Soundcore 2 lacks. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Soundcore 2 lacks. The catch: Calls itself splash resistant and has no official water rating.
The Soundcore 2 is the lighter, tougher option. At 0.7 lbs (318 g) it weighs much less than the Minirig 3 at 1.2 lbs (550 g). It is rated IPX7 against Splash resistant for the Minirig 3. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Minirig 3.
Buy the Soundcore 2 new; the Minirig 3 is no longer sold new, so it only makes sense as a used find.
