Short answer: the Wildbox on paper, the Motion Boom in practice. The Wildbox ranks #9 of 78 large speakers at $100 and edges out the Motion Boom, which ranks #14 at $109.99. The catch is real: our own notes say the Wildbox doesn’t seem to be available anymore.
The Wildbox needs work even if you find one. It ships with older firmware that our notes say sounds noticeably worse, and getting the good firmware requires a Windows PC and a fiddly manual flashing process. Once updated, it’s genuinely neutral across the midrange.
The Motion Boom is simply the easier buy. It’s currently sold, backed by an app, and our notes call it excellent budget-friendly value in its own right, with a 24-hour battery and a buoyant waterproof design.
Buy the Motion Boom if you want something you can actually purchase today. Track down a Wildbox only if you’re willing to hunt for stock and flash the firmware yourself.

The Two Speakers In Full
Mifa Wildbox: $100 Discontinued eBay
Pros: A really neutral frequency response across the midrange. 6 different lighting modes, or turn off the lights with a long button press. You will need to upgrade it to the latest 2.11 firmware with a Windows PC, as it likely ships with 1.93. Sound quality and bass extension on previous firmwares wasn’t very good. To upgrade firmware, install the PC flashing tool and download firmware. With the speaker off, hold V+ Play V- at the same time to enter flashing mode. To check firmware, turn on the speaker, quickly press the M button 3 times, then quickly press the Play button 3 times (it can take a few tries). Measured bass extension of 45Hz (-10dB).
Cons: Doesn’t seem to be available anymore. No app. The slightly boosted upper treble can be slightly fatiguing on-axis with certain songs. Some of the buttons can be confusing, “M” is the Bluetooth button and skip song is long press play, while repeat is double press play. The plastic case isn’t textured or rubberized like other speakers and some may find it feels cheap. If dropped it may break internally and sound strange. Best bought from a retailer with free returns, in case it arrives damaged in shipping. Discontinued.

Pros: 30W loud bass-heavy sound, excellent budget-friendly value. 10,000mAh battery for 24 hours claimed (15-18 hours with BassUp engaged at high volume). Waterproof, buoyant design, convenient carry handle. PowerIQ USB port charges devices. BassUp feature works well with clear mids/highs. Measured bass extension of 53Hz (-10dB).
