The PRX908 has proven numbers behind it. High-quality vendor data gives it a 5.69 ideal-subwoofer preference score with 58Hz measured extension. The KX 08-A’s local measurement is truncated and cannot produce a preference score at all, so its acoustic performance relative to the PRX908 is currently unconfirmed despite RCF’s flagship KX branding.
Control and connectivity favor the PRX908. It carries a 12-band parametric EQ with dbx DriveRack feedback suppression and Bluetooth control through the JBL Pro Connect app. The KX 08-A instead relies on RCF’s RDNet EtherCON network protocol for remote management, which suits a rigged multi-box RDNet system more than a standalone box.
What the KX 08-A adds:
- A rotatable 90 degree x 70 degree horn, versus the PRX908’s fixed 105 x 60 degree pattern.
- A titanium PKX-dome neodymium compression driver in a lighter 27.6 lbs (12.5 kg) cabinet, against the PRX908’s 30.2 lbs (13.7 kg).
- A slightly higher claimed peak SPL of 128dB versus 126dB.
Everything else is close: both are 2-way bass-reflex 8-inch actives with roughly 2000W peak amplifier sections, M10 rigging points, and a subwoofer-partner caveat noted in each speaker’s own review.
Buy the JBL PRX908 for the confirmed measurement data, onboard parametric EQ, and app-based control.
Buy the RCF KX 08-A if you are already standardized on RDNet for remote system management and want the rotatable horn for room-specific coverage.

Frequency Response Compared
