JBL Flip 7 vs Zealot S167

Last updated: October 10, 2026

These sit in different size classes, so this is not a straight ranking comparison. The JBL Flip 7 ranks #15 of 166 medium speakers by sound quality at $119.95; the Zealot S167 ranks #64 of 103 large speakers by sound quality at $169.

JBL Flip 7 vs Zealot S167

The JBL Flip 7 is the lighter option. A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. At 1.2 lbs (560 g) it weighs much less than the Zealot S167 at 9.4 lbs (4.28 kg). The tradeoff: A little bit of a bump at 4kHz, not quite as neutral as the JBL Flip 6.

What the Zealot S167 does well: Zealot rates the S167 at 100W through four drivers: two 92mm woofers and two 42mm units, with a claimed 20Hz-20kHz response and better than 90dB signal-to-noise. It keeps a wired aux input, which the JBL Flip 7 lacks. The tradeoff: The official parameter table publishes no IP rating and no verified playback time, and conflicting retail figures (IPX6, 24 hours, even 4 hours) are unconfirmed.

Buy the JBL Flip 7 at $119.95 if you want a medium speaker. Buy the Zealot S167 at $169 if you want a large speaker instead.

JBL Flip 7 ranking card

Older models: the JBL Flip 6 (ranked higher, rated 4.2/5), the JBL Flip 5 (ranked lower, rated 3.3/5) and the JBL Flip 4 (ranked lower, rated 3.3/5). See every JBL Flip generation.

Pros: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the JBL Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. Slightly deeper bass than the JBL Flip 6. IP68 protection, a 7-band app EQ, Auracast and a USB-C digital audio input. Measured bass extension of 59Hz (-10dB).

Cons: A little bit of a bump at 4kHz, not quite as neutral as the JBL Flip 6. On balance it is the slightly worse of the two.

Zealot S167 ranking card

Pros: Zealot rates the S167 at 100W through four drivers: two 92mm woofers and two 42mm units, with a claimed 20Hz-20kHz response and better than 90dB signal-to-noise. The 24000mAh battery (six 21700 cells), Type-C charging, 5V/2A power-bank output, RGB lighting, TWS/multi-speaker linking and onboard EQ suit parties and off-grid use. A 3.5mm AUX input, USB-A and microSD playback accept most sources, and a shoulder strap, storage bag and carry handle make the 3.6kg (net) box transportable. Techder Audios measured it as very loud for the money.

Cons: The official parameter table publishes no IP rating and no verified playback time, and conflicting retail figures (IPX6, 24 hours, even 4 hours) are unconfirmed. Power claims also conflict, from 100W on the spec sheet to 150W peak marketing. With no independent measurements, the 20Hz bass extension, real maximum SPL and distortion (only a ‘<1%‘ claim) are unknown. Charging is rated DC 5V - slow for a 24000mAh pack - no charge time is confirmed, and Bluetooth codecs are unspecified. Techder Audios found it less detailed than the smaller Xiaomi Sound Party 50W, with bass that is stronger rather than deeper.
