JBL Flip 7 vs Zealot P12

Last updated: October 10, 2026

Different classes, so treat this as a step-up-or-not question rather than a head-to-head. The JBL Flip 7 ranks #15 of 166 medium speakers by sound quality at $119.95; the Zealot P12 ranks #58 of 103 large speakers by sound quality at $65.97.

JBL Flip 7 vs Zealot P12

The JBL Flip 7 is the tougher choice. A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. It is rated IP68 against IPX6 for the Zealot P12. The catch: A little bit of a bump at 4kHz, not quite as neutral as the JBL Flip 6.

The Zealot P12 is the longer-running pick. Zealot pairs a 50W racetrack woofer with a 10W tweeter and dual passive radiators (60W total), and Techder Audios found it stays well controlled even at high volume, a clear step up from the Zealot P11. It is rated for 20 hours of battery against 14 for the JBL Flip 7. It keeps a wired aux input, which the JBL Flip 7 lacks. The catch: Bass is good but not as deep or forceful as the Zealot S85, and the Xiaomi Sound Party beats it on both bass and loudness in a direct comparison.

Buy the JBL Flip 7 at $119.95 for a medium speaker, or the Zealot P12 at $65.97 for a large speaker instead.

JBL Flip 7 ranking card

Older models: the JBL Flip 6 (ranked higher, rated 4.2/5), the JBL Flip 5 (ranked lower, rated 3.3/5) and the JBL Flip 4 (ranked lower, rated 3.3/5). See every JBL Flip generation.

Pros: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the JBL Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. Slightly deeper bass than the JBL Flip 6. IP68 protection, a 7-band app EQ, Auracast and a USB-C digital audio input. Measured bass extension of 59Hz (-10dB).

Cons: A little bit of a bump at 4kHz, not quite as neutral as the JBL Flip 6. On balance it is the slightly worse of the two.

Zealot P12 ranking card

Pros: Zealot pairs a 50W racetrack woofer with a 10W tweeter and dual passive radiators (60W total), and Techder Audios found it stays well controlled even at high volume, a clear step up from the Zealot P11. It plays louder than the Xiaomi Sound Outdoor with clearer vocals. An 8000mAh battery rated for about 20 hours, IPX6 water resistance, TWS stereo pairing, three EQ modes, RGB lighting, a built in carry handle and USB, microSD and 3.5mm AUX playback cover the practical basics.

Cons: Bass is good but not as deep or forceful as the Zealot S85, and the Xiaomi Sound Party beats it on both bass and loudness in a direct comparison. The tuning leans natural rather than punchy, so listeners who want a heavy bass kick may find it restrained. Zealot’s listing contradicts itself on power (60W, 80W and 90W peak) and battery life (20 to 30 hours), and there is no companion app or published codec support.
