JBL Flip 7 vs Xiaomi Sound Party

Last updated: August 19, 2026

Short answer: the JBL Flip 7. It ranks #14 of 136 medium speakers by sound quality at $129.95; the Xiaomi Sound Party ranks #19 and costs $133.62, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.

On the JBL Flip 7 side: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. The tradeoff: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6. I believe this one is slightly worse than the Flip 6.

What the Xiaomi Sound Party gets right: Sounds pretty balanced overall, more neutral than the Charge 5. Nice passive radiator visual effect. The catch: Bass can sound slightly thuddy at high volume, 180hz peak. Can’t match the Soundcore Boom 2 on raw bass output and loudness.

Buy the JBL Flip 7. It ranks higher for sound quality than the Xiaomi Sound Party and costs less, so there is no real case for the other one.

If battery life is a priority, the Xiaomi Sound Party is rated for 26 hours versus 14 hours for the JBL Flip 7.

Xiaomi Sound Party: $133.62 Aliexpress

Pros: Sounds pretty balanced overall, more neutral than the Charge 5. Nice passive radiator visual effect. Plays clean out of the box, unlike the JBL Charge 6’s default tuning, which has noticeable mid distortion. Better off-axis dispersion than the VIFA Helsinki thanks to its tweeter. One of the best-performing speakers for its price and size.

Cons: Bass can sound slightly thuddy at high volume, 180hz peak. Can’t match the Soundcore Boom 2 on raw bass output and loudness. Bass and treble are noticeably boosted by default, which listeners who prefer a neutral sound may want to EQ down.
