JBL Flip 7 vs Xdobo X8

Last updated: August 21, 2026

Short answer: the JBL Flip 7 for better sound quality, the Xdobo X8 for the lower price. The JBL Flip 7 ranks #14 of 136 medium speakers at $129.95. The Xdobo X8 ranks #122 at $35, $94.95 cheaper.

On the JBL Flip 7 side: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. Set against that: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6. I believe this one is slightly worse than the Flip 6.

The case for the Xdobo X8: 60W output power, IPX5 waterproof, 15-hour battery life, Bluetooth 5.0, TWS stereo pairing, single full-range driver, MicroSD and AUX support, built-in microphone, USB-C charging, portable 860g design. The tradeoff: Harsh midrange, rolled off highs. Distorted sound.

Buy the JBL Flip 7 if sound quality matters more than the price. Buy the Xdobo X8 if the price matters more than sound quality.

If sound quality matters at all to you, skip the Xdobo X8. It ranks near the bottom of the 136 medium speakers, so look higher up the list instead.

If water resistance matters to you, the JBL Flip 7 at IP68 (extended submersion) holds up far better than the Xdobo X8 at IPX5 (water jets).
