JBL Flip 7 vs Tribit Stormbox 2

Last updated: August 21, 2026

Short answer: the JBL Flip 7 for better sound quality, the Tribit Stormbox 2 for the lower price. The JBL Flip 7 ranks #14 of 136 medium speakers at $129.95. The Tribit Stormbox 2 ranks #80 at $70, $59.95 cheaper.

The case for the JBL Flip 7: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. Watch for: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6. I believe this one is slightly worse than the Flip 6.

What the Tribit Stormbox 2 gets right: A little better sounding than the Stormbox 1, less of a rolled off treble. The tradeoff: Drivers on the side, so it will have a rolled off treble listening to it face on.

Buy the JBL Flip 7 if sound quality matters more than the price. Buy the Tribit Stormbox 2 if the price matters more than sound quality.

If battery life is a priority, the Tribit Stormbox 2 is rated for 24 hours versus 14 hours for the JBL Flip 7.
