JBL Flip 7 vs Soundcore Flare 2

Last updated: August 21, 2026

Short answer: the JBL Flip 7 for better sound quality, the Soundcore Flare 2 for the lower price. The JBL Flip 7 ranks #14 of 136 medium speakers at $129.95. The Soundcore Flare 2 ranks #105 at $80, $49.95 cheaper.

What the JBL Flip 7 gets right: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. The tradeoff: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6. I believe this one is slightly worse than the Flip 6.

The case for the Soundcore Flare 2: Try Alan Ross’s EQ for it. Watch for: Rolled off treble. Thuddy bass. Not technically a 360 speaker, only front and rear.

Buy the JBL Flip 7 if sound quality matters more than the price. Buy the Soundcore Flare 2 if the price matters more than sound quality.

If sound quality matters at all to you, skip the Soundcore Flare 2. It ranks near the bottom of the 136 medium speakers, so look higher up the list instead.
