Short answer: the JBL Flip 7 without hesitation. The Flip 7 is very neutral and almost pocket size, with a little bump at 4kHz against it. The Skullcandy Terrain is IPX7 rated with a carry strap and reasonable 14-18 hour battery life depending on model, but it has no bass, very rolled off treble with distortion, and in our notes it just does not sound good.
Buy the JBL Flip 7. It is rated higher for sound quality, and saving $40.46 with the Skullcandy Terrain does not make up for the sound-quality gap.
