Short answer: the JBL Flip 7. It ranks #14 of 136 medium speakers by sound quality at $129.95; the Bose SoundLink Color II ranks #98 and costs $139, so there is not much of a tradeoff to weigh.
What the JBL Flip 7 gets right: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. Set against that: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6. I believe this one is slightly worse than the Flip 6.
The case for the Bose SoundLink Color II: Soft-touch rubber coating is comfortable to hold and tough enough for bumps and scrapes. The tradeoff: Boosted bass on Color II. Not as deep of bass as other models. Lacking midrange detail.
Buy the JBL Flip 7. It ranks higher for sound quality than the Bose SoundLink Color II and costs less, so there is no real case for the other one.
If battery life is a priority, the JBL Flip 7 is rated for 14 hours versus 8 hours for the Bose SoundLink Color II.
If water resistance matters to you, the JBL Flip 7 at IP68 (extended submersion) holds up far better than the Bose SoundLink Color II at IPX4 (splashing).
