The Mitus 115A’s own review is candid that its measured bass extension, roughly 92Hz, is shallower than most 15-inch rivals here, while the DXR15mkII reaches a deeper 67Hz.
Price is the biggest gap. At a roughly $1,790 asking price, the Mitus 115A’s own review calls it one of the more expensive boxes in this ranking, while the DXR15mkII is a fraction of that cost as a proven, broadly distributed workhorse with Yamaha’s FIR-X processing and D-CONTOUR presets.
Neither has app control or Bluetooth audio, and both rely on onboard DSP rather than networked remote management.
Buy the Yamaha DXR15mkII for deeper measured bass extension, wider distribution, and a fraction of the Mitus 115A’s price.
Buy the FBT Mitus 115A only if you specifically want its B&C neodymium woofer and rotatable horn for premium main-speaker use, and the price and shallower bass extension are not concerns.
