Short answer: the XP15. These rank #22 and #23 out of 29 15-inch powered PA speakers, priced at - for the XP15.
The XP15 measures noticeably better across the board. Medium-quality vendor data returns a 4.12 ideal-subwoofer preference score with 48Hz measured extension, extending the XP12’s rotatable horn and Class-D amplification to a 15-inch cabinet. That’s a stronger result than the J15A’s, and its rotatable 80° x 50° horn adds aiming flexibility the J15A’s fixed horn doesn’t offer. Martin Audio does have a smaller North American dealer network than JBL, Yamaha or QSC, and pricing isn’t yet well established for this model.
The J15A measures lower and extends its wedge-capable design to a 15-inch woofer. Medium-quality vendor data shows a 3.25 ideal-subwoofer preference score with 63Hz measured extension, extending the compact, wedge-capable J-series design used by the J12A and J8A to a 15-inch woofer. The preference score is on the lower end for this ranking, and detailed coverage, SPL and weight figures weren’t confirmed in local data.
Buy the XP15 for the stronger measured preference score, deeper bass extension, and rotatable horn.
Buy the J15A if you specifically need its wedge-capable form factor for stage-monitor duty and the measured gap doesn’t concern you.
Skip both if sound quality is the priority. There are better options higher up the 29 15-inch two-way powered pa speakers.
