Bose Soundlink Flex vs JBL Flip 7

Last updated: August 20, 2026

Short answer: the JBL Flip 7 for better sound quality, the Bose Soundlink Flex for the lower price. The JBL Flip 7 ranks #14 of 136 medium speakers at $129.95. The Bose Soundlink Flex ranks #34 at $89, $40.95 cheaper.

What the Bose Soundlink Flex gets right: IP67 rated; rugged enough to survive drops from several feet and floats. The tradeoff: Not stereo. Warm sounding with overly boosted bass which drowns out midrange detail.

What the JBL Flip 7 offers: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Set against that: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6.

Buy the Bose Soundlink Flex if the price matters more than sound quality. Buy the JBL Flip 7 if sound quality matters more than the price.

JBL Flip 7: $129.95 Amazon

JBL Flip 7 ranking card

Pros: A very neutral speaker, very small, almost pocket size. Just slightly more treble than the Flip 6 which was already a great speaker. Slightly deeper bass than the Flip 6

Cons: A little bit of a bump at 4khz, not quite as neutral as the FLip 6. I believe this one is slightly worse than the Flip 6.
