The case for the Bose S1 Pro+: Extremely compact and light with flexible placement options, and very loud for its size. It supports AAC Bluetooth, which the Panasonic SC-TMAX10 lacks. It links with other speakers (Bose Party mode), which the Panasonic SC-TMAX10 cannot. It has an adjustable EQ, which the Panasonic SC-TMAX10 lacks. Watch for: Leans toward a bright sound signature, and its bass bottoms out as the volume rises, so full range music suffers well before maximum loudness.
What the Panasonic SC-TMAX10 does well: 300W output with 20cm woofer (dual drive) + 2x 6cm tweeters. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Bose S1 Pro+. Watch for: Not as deep bass as others in the class.
One note: the Panasonic SC-TMAX10 is no longer in production and isn’t widely stocked new anymore.
Buy the Bose S1 Pro+ at $699 for a battery-powered PA speaker, or the Panasonic SC-TMAX10 at $349 for a party speaker instead.
