What the Bogasing M5 does well: Compact enough for a backpack side pocket at under 1.7 lbs (771 g). It keeps a wired aux input, which the Huawei Sound Joy lacks. The catch: Front/rear driver configuration.
The Huawei Sound Joy is the louder option. Use Devialet and +6db EQ for best sound quality. Alan Ross Reviews measured it at 100dB at full volume, against 96dB for the Bogasing M5. The tradeoff: Boosted treble, not quite as deep of bass as a JBL Charge 5.
Buy the Bogasing M5 if you want one new; the Huawei Sound Joy is discontinued, so only look for it used.
