The EarFun Uboom L is the better-sounding, louder option. A great value medium speaker with clear, natural sound, waterproofing, and a Video Mode that keeps audio in sync with video. Alan Ross Reviews measured it at 103dB at full volume, against 100dB for the Huawei Sound Joy. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Huawei Sound Joy lacks. It plays in stereo from a single unit, unlike the Huawei Sound Joy. The tradeoff: It cannot produce real low-bass rumble or fill a large, noisy space, and the top end loses some detail.
The Huawei Sound Joy is the longer-running choice. A waterproof speaker with a separate tweeter, long battery life and good loudness, with a Devialet mode for its best sound. It is rated for 26 hours of battery against 16 for the EarFun Uboom L. Watch for: Boosted treble, not quite as deep of bass as a JBL Charge 5.
Buy the EarFun Uboom L. It is rated higher for sound quality and still sold new, while the Huawei Sound Joy is discontinued.
