The Minirig 4 is the better-sounding, louder choice. A small, long lasting speaker that gets loud and can add a matching subwoofer, with a 30 hour battery. Alan Ross Reviews measured it at 106dB at full volume, against 100dB for the Huawei Sound Joy. It keeps a wired aux input, which the Huawei Sound Joy lacks. Watch for: Calls itself splash resistant and has no official water rating.
The Huawei Sound Joy is the tougher choice. A waterproof speaker with a separate tweeter, long battery life and good loudness, with a Devialet mode for its best sound. It is rated IP67 against Splash resistant for the Minirig 4. The catch: Boosted treble, not quite as deep of bass as a JBL Charge 5.
Buy the Minirig 4. It is rated higher for sound quality; the Huawei Sound Joy is no longer sold new.
