Short answer: the Soundcore Mini is the better buy. It adds an FM tuner and microSD playback on top of a single 2 inch full-range driver with a passive radiator, though there is no companion app or EQ. The Xiaomi Sound Pocket counters with true pocketability: 0.4 lbs (200 g) and IP67, but its 5W driver has little real bass and vocals turn harsh past roughly 80% volume.
Soundcore Mini uses a single 2” full-range driver with a passive radiator, adding an FM tuner and microSD playback, though there’s no companion app or EQ to adjust its sound.
Sound Pocket is a genuinely pocketable 0.4 lbs (200 g) speaker with IP67 protection and speakerphone capability, but its 5W driver has little real bass and vocals can turn harsh past roughly 80% volume; it can also vibrate around on hard surfaces.
Buy the Soundcore Mini for the better overall rating and its FM tuner and microSD playback. Buy the Xiaomi Sound Pocket only if true pocketability and IP67 protection matter more than sound quality.
If battery life is a priority, the Soundcore Mini is rated for 15 hours versus 10 hours for the Xiaomi Sound Pocket.
If water resistance matters to you, the Xiaomi Sound Pocket at IP67 (brief submersion) holds up far better than the Soundcore Mini at no water resistance.
