Anker Soundcore Mini vs Tribit Stormbox Micro 2

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Short answer: the Stormbox Micro 2, and it’s the class leader. It ranks #1 of 47 small speakers at $50; the Soundcore Mini ranks #13 at $30, $20 less.

The Soundcore Mini has real features for the price: an FM tuner, aux input, and microSD support. Our notes note it isn’t quite as deep in bass as higher-ranked speakers and has no waterproofing at all.

The Micro 2 is described as best in class, with much deeper bass than most speakers its size and a genuinely neutral tuning, plus a built-in strap that doubles as a stand.

Buy the Stormbox Micro 2 for the class-leading sound. Buy the Soundcore Mini if the FM tuner and aux input specifically matter to you and $20 is a real constraint.

Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 ranking card

Pros: Best in class sound. Much deeper bass than most other speakers in the size. Built in strap is super useful for attaching it to things. Very neutral. To have it aimed directly at you unclip the strap and the speaker will sit upright with a slight lean back.

Cons: Finicky phone charging, which doesn’t usually work.

Setup: Use in Music EQ mode, when you switch to custom it’s not able to boost the bass properly as it is missing an EQ band that Music EQ mode uses
