The RCF ART 732-A MK4 has been replaced by the RCF ART 732-A MK5. If you are buying new, get the RCF ART 732-A MK5.
The X12CLA is a specialized constant-curvature box for flown clusters. Its 100 degree x 15 degree pattern is built for tightly controlled coverage when several units are flown together, backed by networked DSP over EtherCON. Its own review is candid that the very narrow 15-degree vertical pattern is specialized rather than broadly useful as a single portable main, and at 69.4 lbs (31.5 kg) it is one of the heaviest cabinets in this size class. It is also discontinued, and medium-quality vendor data gives it a 4.07 preference score that trails the stronger point-source options.
The ART 732-A MK4 is a general-purpose main speaker, also discontinued. Its large 3-inch compression-driver voice coil and roughly 53Hz measured extension give it useful vocal headroom and more bass reach than RCF’s own 712 MK4, in a comparatively light 39.2 lbs (17.8 kg) enclosure. Its own review notes the low-quality vendor data is truncated and does not yield a preference score, and that it lacks modern remote control and is eclipsed by the better-supported ART 732-A MK5 and current 9-series models.
Everything else diverges: the X12CLA’s 132dB claimed peak and networked EtherCON control target installed cluster arrays, while the ART 732-A MK4’s simple XLR/TRS combo input and 700Hz crossover suit a standalone stage box.
Buy the RCF ART 732-A MK4 only at a steep discount versus the newer ART 732-A MK5, for simple standalone PA use.
Buy the Amate Audio X12CLA only if you are assembling a flown constant-curvature cluster and specifically need its narrow vertical pattern, and can find one on the used market.
