What this page covers. The HiVi models ranked here span powered speakers and passive speakers, including HiVi Swan X3 and HiVi Swans 3.1A Sehlin Sound Solutions mod. Use each model’s category position to compare it with alternatives of the same size and use case.
This page lists all 2 HiVi speakers ranked on this site across powered speakers and passive speakers. Each model is shown in the category where it competes, with its current rank and the size of that ranking.
Use the category position rather than the brand name alone: speakers from the same manufacturer can perform very differently by size, price and product family.

Small Size Powered Bookshelf Speakers
Ranked #6 of 22 in Small Size Powered Bookshelf Speakers - HiVi Swan X3: $249/pair eBay
Pros: ASR’s Spinorama data predicts 3.13 standalone and 6.12 with an ideal subwoofer, placing its bass-normalized tonal performance ahead of several similarly small budget monitors. Listening-window narrow-band deviation is 0.420, lower than the MR3’s 0.538, indicating fewer local response irregularities by that measure. The compact coaxial layout is convenient for a small desktop system.
Cons: Not a flat reference monitor: the response spans 5.0dB from 300Hz to 5kHz and trends upward toward the treble. Bass reaches -3dB at about 79Hz, so a subwoofer remains important. Coaxial construction alone does not guarantee uniform dispersion, and the preference score does not establish distortion or maximum clean output.

Large Size Bookshelf Speakers
Ranked #61 of 131 in Large Size Bookshelf Speakers - HiVi Swans 3.1A Sehlin Sound Solutions mod: $364.99 for the kit (assembly required) Amazon eBay
Pros: CEA2034 spinorama shows a mostly smooth on-axis response for a DIY three-way kit. Horizontal beamwidth of about ±70 degrees is wide and consistent. Distortion stays under control down to 40Hz at 96dB SPL/1m, a strong result for a 6.5” woofer in this class.
Cons: Some directivity error appears around 2.1kHz on-axis. Predicted in-room response needs about 1-2dB of correction to fit an ideal target curve. Vertical directivity is just okay, so listening height matters more than with a coincident design. Minimum impedance dips to 3.8 ohms with several peaks, a moderately demanding load. Requires DIY assembly (kit only), with additional Sehlin-mod parts and labor beyond the base kit price.
