JTR Kallos 12Sub: $3,699 JTR Speakers eBay
Pros: A compact sealed subwoofer with a 12-inch driver and a 2,000W RMS Class D amplifier, with DSP tuning for a smooth response and high output. JTR rates it at 22Hz to 800Hz within 3dB outdoors, with in-room gain extending it lower. The cabinet is stacked Baltic birch, about 48cm square and 32cm deep.
Cons: Erin’s Audio Corner tested it outdoors on video, but CEA-2010 output figures in the form the other subwoofers here are ranked on haven’t been published, so it can’t be placed against them. At $3,699 it is expensive for a single 12-inch subwoofer, and it is sold mainly direct from JTR.
