Pros: By far the best-measuring of Sigberg’s active monitors independent of bass extension: a spinorama preference score of 5.78, versus 2.48 for the Manta and 2.97 for the SBS.1, driven by better on-axis linearity (nbd_on_axis 0.444), roughly double the in-room smoothness (sm_pred_in_room 0.512 versus 0.262 for the Manta) and sound-power smoothness (sm_sound_power 0.411 versus 0.205-0.276 for the other two). Updated asymmetric 1st/3rd-order linear-phase crossover and production-spec measurement data rather than a prototype. Also the deepest verified bass extension of the three, 24Hz once paired with its companion subwoofers. Active 3-channel Hypex nCore Class D amplification (350W per speaker) with a 9-band parametric EQ.
Cons: Slightly wider directivity variation than the Manta (spinorama directivity index standard deviation 3.27 versus 2.50), the widest of the three though broadly comparable to the SBS.1’s 3.19. Still requires a separate subwoofer purchase to hit its rated bass extension. Sold only as part of a bundled system with pricing well into flagship territory. Built to order with a lead time of several months.
