Pros: A pill shaped waterproof speaker from Philips, also listed as the S3160, with a woofer and separate tweeter on 20W + 10W of amplification. It has IPX7 waterproofing, Bluetooth 5.4, a 3000mAh battery, USB-C charging, an outdoor sound mode and a wrist strap, and costs far less than the similar looking Joy&Oluv’Sone sEARius S1.

Cons: Oluv, who designs the rival Joy&Oluv’Sone sEARius S1, tested the two side by side and heard a sizzling peak near 10kHz, little real bass and audible distortion by the third volume step, with the outdoor mode harsher still. Treat that as a competitor’s verdict. The lowest volume step is also loud, which makes quiet listening difficult. It is sold mainly in the Philippines and other overseas marketplaces.
