#103 ION Sport Surge: $89.00 Walmart $89.00 eBay
Pros: A true stereo boombox with two 3.5 inch drivers, two 1 inch tweeters and two passive radiators, rated for up to 20 hours of battery at half volume. It weighs 2.47 kg, is IPX5 splash resistant, and has an aux input, USB flash drive playback, beat synced lights and stereo linking with a second unit.
Cons: Its bass is nowhere near as deep as top ranked large speakers like the JBL Xtreme 5 and Tribit Stormbox Lava, which reach down to about 43 Hz and 44 Hz. No independent reviews or measurements yet, so its rating is estimated from ION’s similar speakers. There is no app or adjustable EQ, the USB port plays music but cannot charge a phone, and IPX5 covers splashes, not submersion.
