#62 Nubert nuVero nova 9: €2,190 per pair Estimated Nubert eBay
Older model: the Nubert nuVero 60 (ranked higher, rated 4.1/5).
Pros: The compact three-way of Nubert’s third-generation nuVero nova series: a 168mm four-layer carbon woofer, a 101mm carbon midrange and a 25mm aluminium dome tweeter, with jumpers to adjust treble and bass. Nubert rates it down to 35Hz (-3dB).
Cons: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared directly with measured speakers; the rating is estimated from its measured predecessor. Sensitivity is a low 84.5dB, so it needs a strong amplifier, and it weighs 20.5kg each. Sold direct from Nubert in Europe.
How it compares: Just above it: Nubert nuVero 60 - 1.5Hz higher bass extension (-3dB). Just below it: Monitor Audio Silver 100 8G - 2.5Hz higher bass extension (-3dB).
