These sit in different size classes, so this is not a straight ranking comparison. The Nubert nuVero nova 9 ranks #70 of 214 bookshelf speakers by sound quality; the Nubert nuVero nova 18 ranks #77 of 226 floorstanding speakers by sound quality.
The case for the Nubert nuVero nova 9: The compact three-way of Nubert’s third-generation nuVero nova series: a 168mm four-layer carbon woofer, a 101mm carbon midrange and a 25mm aluminium dome tweeter, with jumpers to adjust treble and bass. The catch: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared directly with measured speakers; the rating is estimated from its measured predecessor.
What the Nubert nuVero nova 18 does well: The four-way flagship of the nuVero nova line, with eight mid and bass drivers including four 203mm woofers, rated to 23Hz (-3dB). The tradeoff: No independent measurements yet, so its tonal balance and directivity can’t be compared with ranked speakers.
Buy the Nubert nuVero nova 9 if you want a bookshelf speaker. Buy the Nubert nuVero nova 18 if you want a floorstanding speaker instead.
About the ratings: neither speaker has been measured yet, so both ratings are estimated from measured siblings and predecessors (likely ranges: Nubert nuVero nova 9 3.8 to 4.4; Nubert nuVero nova 18 4.0 to 4.6). Treat this verdict as provisional.
