#61 Nubert nuVero 60: $1,750 per pair Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the Nubert nuVero nova 9, ranked lower, estimated 4.1/5.
Pros: A three-way compact with a 180mm glass fiber woofer, a dedicated midrange and a 26mm silk tweeter. Audio Science Review measured low on-axis deviation (0.30), wide horizontal coverage (about ±60 degrees) and very deep bass for a standmount, 41.0Hz (-3dB) and about 33Hz (-10dB), for a preference score of 5.47 that reaches 7.13 with an ideal subwoofer. Measured bass extension of 41.0Hz (-3dB).
Cons: Sensitivity is a low 86dB at 2.83V and the 4 ohm load needs a capable amplifier. Directivity varies more across frequency than the best here (3.74dB deviation). Replaced by the nuVero nova series. Discontinued.
How it compares: Just above it: Paradigm Founder 40B - $550 cheaper, 3Hz higher bass extension (-3dB). Just below it: Nubert nuVero nova 9 - 1.5Hz lower bass extension (-3dB).
