#34 KEF Q650c: $749.99 each Discontinued eBay
Newer model: the KEF Q6 Meta, ranked higher, rated 3.9/5.
Pros: A 2.5-way center with KEF’s 5.25” Uni-Q coaxial driver between two 6.5” woofers. Erin’s Audio Corner measured bass to 67.4Hz (-3dB) and about 46Hz (-10dB), deeper than the smaller Q250c. Measured bass extension of 67.4Hz (-3dB).
Cons: On-axis response is uneven (0.98dB average deviation) and the listening window spans 4.7dB from 300Hz to 5kHz, and horizontal coverage is narrow (about ±20 degrees), the classic side-to-side cancellation of a two-woofer center. Preference score 3.92 without a subwoofer. KEF replaced it with the Q6 Meta. Discontinued.
How it compares: Just above it: Monolith Encore C6 - $500 cheaper, 0.7Hz higher bass extension (-3dB). Just below it: Ascend Acoustics CMT-340 SE Center - $451 cheaper, 3Hz higher bass extension (-3dB).
