#50 Ascend Acoustics Sierra Duo V2 Ribbon: $1,688/pair Ascend Acoustics eBay

Pros: The RAAL ribbon version has exceptionally smooth directivity (2.09 SPDI standard deviation) and high-quality manufacturer NFS data. Its compact bamboo cabinet, dual front slots, and vertical or horizontal mounting options are unusually flexible.

Cons: Spinorama estimates 79.1Hz at -3dB and about 50Hz at -10dB, so a subwoofer is strongly recommended. The ribbon version scores below the Titan version in the preference model and has narrow horizontal dispersion if the MTM cabinet is placed horizontally.

How it compares: Just above it: Ascend Acoustics Sierra Duo V2 Titan - $350 cheaper. Just below it: JTR Noesis 210HT - $311 more, 6.5Hz higher bass extension (-3dB).
