#23 Turtle Beach Atlas Air: $179.99 Wireless Amazon $179.99 eBay

Pros: An open-back wireless gaming headset with a preference score of 90, far higher than the Logitech G Astro A50 X. Bass sits within 0.3 dB of target and the open design gives a spacious sound, with 50 hours of battery and a removable mic.

Cons: Sub bass is about 2.7 dB low and a 7.6 dB peak near 8.4 kHz can make effects and sibilants sharp. The open back leaks sound and lets noise in, and codec support is not published.

Is the Turtle Beach Atlas Air right for you?

Buy it if

  • you want the tuning most listeners prefer in blind tests out of the box (Harman score 90).
  • you want sub-bass rumble that reaches down to 20 Hz.
  • you want long battery life (claimed 50 hours).

Skip it if

  • you need isolation or will use it in public: open-back headphones leak sound both ways.

Frequency Response

How the Turtle Beach Atlas Air measures across the audible range, against the Harman over-ear target that most listeners prefer in blind tests. Where the line sits above the target that range sounds louder (more bass, brighter treble), below it quieter. The curve is a single measurement, and both lines are shifted so their 500 Hz to 2 kHz average sits at 0 dB.
